About SomaMetric

SomaMetric was created to help people understand what their body is telling them, without fear or confusion.

So many people are doing their best for their health, but are still feeling tired, flat or stuck. Data is available, but interpretation and context are often missing.

SomaMetric exists to fill that gap.

Why SomaMetric Exists

I’ve worn a fitness tracker for years. Despite my background in sport, exercise science, and nutrition, I often found myself looking at the data and thinking: What am I actually supposed to do with this?

My wife had the same experience. So did my mum. Different ages, different lifestyles, but the same frustration. Lots of numbers, very little clarity.

What stood out was that the data itself wasn’t the problem. The problem was interpretation. Without context, even useful information can feel confusing or quietly stressful.

Over time, I realised that a fitness tracker can act as a window into how your body is coping day to day, not as a diagnosis, but as a guide. Our bodies are finely balanced, and when one area is under strain, it often shows up elsewhere in subtle ways.

SomaMetric was created to bridge that gap, translating wearable data into calm, meaningful insight that helps people feel better in themselves, not more overwhelmed.

About Adam

I’ve been involved in sport for over 20-years. I started sailing as a child and this really got me interested in exercise and performance. I graduated in 2015 from Loughborough University with a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science, where I was lucky enough to work with a variety of people; from elite athletes through to completely untrained individuals of all ages. I worked as a performance analyst for Loughborough University Ladies Hockey as well. I furthered my studies by obtaining a MSc in Sport and Exercise Nutrition in 2017, where I completed an 6-month investigation into fitness tracker usage and how these affect both weight loss and adherence to the couch to 5k programme. Every person I worked with on this programme was untrained and had no idea about exercise or nutrition. I guided these people through the programme weekly for 6-months, and by the end, we had 100% adherence and everyone successfully completed the couch to 5k programme, with many going on to complete their first 10km race. This experience made me realise how I enjoy helping people become a better version of themselves.

In 2018, I obtained my Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification as well as my Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification. I worked as a self-employed personal trainer up until 2020, where coronavirus struck and led me to start a PGDE in Secondary Biology.

I have worked as a Biology teacher ever since.

I believe that my unique mix of healthy lifestyle knowledge and teaching enables me to really connect with the clients that I work with. I am able to translate complex scientific data and information into an easy-to-understand way thanks to both my teaching and coaching experience.

I love what I do and I love to help my clients to improve their long-term health.
